Energy Efficiency Contest

Climate change, energy shortage, inflation - What can we do about these issues at the University of Freiburg?

In the face of current challenges, solutions for efficient, conscious use of energy are more needed than ever. The Sustainable Working Group (AKNU) is therefore looking for effective concepts and projects to improve energy use in the operations of the University of Freiburg.

Do you have an idea for a project in your organizational unit that can save energy? Whether it is a temporary action or a permanent issue, we encourage your commitment!

Submit a project description of maximum two pages describing your measures and goals for energy savings and receive funding of up to €15,000 for their implementation. Applications in English are welcome.

The deadline for participation is 15.03.2023.

All organizational units (e.g. departments, institutes, working groups) of the University of Freiburg that have their own account assignment for budgetary resources (Fund 1000) can participate. A project manager must be named for the submitted project.

The AKNU can select one, two or three winning organizational units, which will receive prize money between 1,000 and 15,000 euros for the implementation of their project proposals.

What is to be funded? Projects for more energy efficiency at the University of Freiburg

Who can apply? Organizational units (e.g. departments, institutes, working groups) of the University of Freiburg that have their own account assignment for budgetary funds (Fund 1000) and that have enough funds to finance the project in advance.

How to submit your project proposal? Email with the application documents (description of the project max. 2 pages, completed and signed participation form and consent to processing of personal data forall participants) to nachhaltig@uni-freiburg.de.

When is the submission deadline? 15.03.2023

What can you win? Cash credit of 1,000 - 15,000 euros, which can be redeemed with a UK-V form for invoices already paid by the organizational unit
